Test Tube Baby is defined as a baby resulting from fertilization occurring outside a women’s body. This is called
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) or Intra Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI).
In natural pregnancy, a male sperm penetrates a women’s egg and fertilizes it inside her body after ovulation. The fertilization egg than attaches itself to the wall of the uterus or womb and begins developing into a baby. This is known as‘Natural Conception’.
However, if natural or unassisted conception is not possible Fertility Treatment is an option and Test Tube Baby is recommended which is popular among assisted reproduction techniques.
In this procedure, women receives stimulation injections which are given daily for at least next 2 weeks, by this Ovaries procedure more eggs and vaginal scans are done to monitor the process in the ovaries eggs are collected through Follicular aspiration, which is a minor surgical procedure.
The eggs that have been collected are then placed with male sperms in a Laboratory having controlled environment and this is known as IVF or sperm are injected into the eggs and let to incubate in Laboratory to allow fertilization.
